Max Audio Processor - Contact Us

Thank you for your interest in the Max Audio Processor.  All processor kits include silk screened and solder masked main processor printed circuit board, the front panel interface printed circuit board (which eliminates hand wiring to the various front panel LEDs, switches, and pots) and a printed circuit dress panel providing a background (solder mask) color of black for the 1U Rack versions, and blue for all desktop versions.  They are enhanced with white legends indicating the function of each control and indicator.

Selectable options:  Please see AVAILABILITY page for current cost of each option

Small Desktop version   10” x 7” x 2” enclosure

Medium Desktop version  12” x 8” x 3” enclosure

1U Rack version         19” x 8” x 1 Ύ” enclosure

Note: Enclosures are "as-received" from Bud Industries or Circuit Specialists, and require the builder to perform minimal metalwork tasks, including the drilling of holes for front panel controls and indicators, back panel audio and power connectors, and bottom deck holes to mount the processor printed circuit board.  The front dress panel serves as a "drilling template" to position and size the front panel holes.  The rear deck connector locations are left to the discretion of the builder.

Power Option 1   Wall transformer, 12 VAC (Compatible with all enclosures, but must be used for smaller desktop enclosure)

Power Option 2   Internal E-I core transformer, 24 VAC CT (For mid-size desktop and rack enclosures)

For medium desktop version, two front panel layouts are available:

Style 1 with one input level control, and one output level control

Style 2 with two input (mic and line) level controls, and two output controls

Small desktop and rack versions support only two level controls, one input and one output.

To configure your processor, first select the model and either the 540 standard or the 540L (lite) series) main processor kit.

Second, choose an enclosure, either small desktop, medium desktop, or rack.

Third, if medium desktop, select either style 1 or style 2 panel layout.

Fourth, decide whether you prefer a 12 volt AC external wall transformer, or if you feel safe to wire the 120 VAC circuit to an internal E-I core or toroid transformer.  (Read the availability details carefully, as internal transformers will not fit in the available space with some enclosure and board configurations).  The 12 volt AC wall transformer is compatible with all configurations, and it contains no switching components that could emit noise, possibly impacting weak signal reception.

Last, decide whether you prefer XLR or 1/4" TRS (phone) jacks for the audio interconnections.

Add the basic kit, enclosure, and power transformer costs to determine the total merchandise cost.  Actual shipping cost will be added to the merchandise cost.  A check for the total, including actual shipping, will be due after the kit is shipped to the buyer.  We do not use PayPal.

If configured similarly to the examples below, the package will include everything needed to complete the Max Processor product kit, except solder, soldering iron, and other tools.

Example 1:

Processor basic kit, revision level 540  cost $425.00

1U Rack version         19 x 8 x 1 3/4 inches  enclosure  cost $115.00

Power Option 2   Internal E-I core transformer, 24 VAC CT  cost $20.00

Total cost = $425.00 + $115.00 + $20.00 = $560.00 + approx shipping $30.00 =  $590.00

Specify XLR or TRS connectors for audio interfacing

Example 2:

Max Processor Lite basic kit, revision level 540L,   cost $325.00

Small Desktop version   10” x 7” x 2” enclosure   cost $40.00

Power Option 1   Wall transformer, 12 VAC    Cost $20.00

Total cost = $325.00 + $40.00 + $20.00 = $385.00 + approx shipping $20.00   = $405.00

TRS 1/4" phone jacks selected

Note:  The small desktop version is available only with the wall transformer, as there is insufficient space in the enclosure for the E-I core transformer.

Do not request Style-2 desktop front panel with the Max Processor Lite kit.  It has only one input channel and one output channel.

If the full processor configuration is chosen (not the 540L lite version) it is recommended that the rack or medium desktop enclosure be chosen, as the small desktop enclosure would be extremely cramped for ease of assembly.
